National Shows for South Devon Herd Book Society

11th National Show 2022

The Society is delighted to be bringing its 11th National Show of South Devons back to the Devon County Show in 2022.

Schedules are available from the Devon County Show website https://www.devoncountyshow.co.uk/competitions/schedules. We anticipate entries exceeding 100 cattle which will make a tremendous show of quality South Devon cattle, and judge Mr Lionel Pascoe from Hayle in Cornwall is very much looking forward to the task of finding his winners.

The tenth National Show of South Devons was as impressive as the first one back in 2010 – big line-ups of excellent quality cattle providing a wonderful display, this time to the many visitors who flocked to the Royal Welsh Show. As ever, it was well supported, with cattle from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, and Ceredigion. It was a tremendous effort made by breeders to bring together a great competition that was widely admired and commented on.

The eighth National Show of South Devons came to the Royal Cornwall Show last week with some of the breed’s best show cattle from as far away as Leicestershire, Staffordshire, Oxfordshire and Shropshire, to join more local breeders from Devon and Cornwall.

9th National Show of South Devons

Suffolk County Show, 30th & 31st May 2018

Our Show hosts at the Suffolk County could not have been more welcoming or accommodating for our 9th National Show. We received lots of attention, plenty of publicity, and very efficient stewarding. Our breed marquee was in a prime spot by the ringside, and we were given the nearest cattle stallings. All in all it was a great event and we hope to have left a bit of a mark as to what our breed can offer farmers in East Anglia!
